Introduction

Few things compare to the smell of cinnamon rolls baking in the oven. These soft, pillowy rolls are loaded with a warm cinnamon-sugar filling and finished with a tangy cream cheese frosting that takes them over the top.

Ingredients

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 7g instant yeast
  • 60g sugar
  • 5g salt
  • 240ml warm milk
  • 60g unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 150g brown sugar (filling)
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon (filling)
  • 60g butter, softened (filling)
  • 120g cream cheese (frosting)
  • 60g butter, softened (frosting)
  • 150g powdered sugar (frosting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (frosting)

How to Make

  1. Combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Knead for 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled.
  3. Roll the dough into a large rectangle. Spread softened butter evenly, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the surface.
  4. Roll the dough tightly into a log starting from the long side. Slice into 12 equal rolls.
  5. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 22-25 minutes until golden on top.
  7. While the rolls bake, beat the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Spread the frosting over the warm rolls.
